Domain description :

You had never seen Red cow? The Laplace have 2! They are the emblem of the Bearn region, family cradle This wine is a reflection of his label: different and original. Tannat grapes are vinified here & bred in vats to preserve the brightness of the fruit and suppleness of tannins. The bistro wine par excellence!

Description of the appellation :

Product not far from the Adour, straddling the departments of Gers, Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Madiran enjoyed early an excellent reputation: he was long the wine of the pilgrims of Saint-Jacques Compostela. Its dominant grape is Tannat, which is expressed forcefully on a clay-limestone and silica mixed with fine gravel, which explains the power and the structure of this good keeping wine. As we age, however, the Madiran becomes silky caresses the palate.

Description of the region :

The Southwest vineyard deploys foothills of the Massif Central to the Pyrenees flanks on historical provinces such as the Basque Country, Rouergue, Guyenne, Béarn, Gascony and Aquitaine. The Southwest vineyards extend over the Adour Basin, Aveyron and the Basque mountains, the Toulouse country, Quercy, Agen, Albi and Bergerac. They have a moist and mild maritime climate, somewhat influenced by the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees. This climate is characterized by frosts in spring, cold winter, summer and autumn are warm. The designations differ in their micro-climates, favored by reliefs that allow the vines installation.
