Domain description :

The Daisy Contant families and share in the nineteenth century most of the wine lands of the Provencal village of Cairanne. Avi Richaud, a vineyard worker from the village of Verclause (Drôme), married in 1910 Marie Constant, heir to a few hectares of vines. As soon as the domain created Richaud, the winemaker to share the Great War but never come back from the front. Marie Richaud, Stage Manager of Customs in Cairanne, maintains the vineyard is taken over by his son Raoul in the 1930s On the Richaud field are then 6 hectares of vineyards that supply a wine cooperative. Gaston Richaud, cabinetmaker, inherits a beautiful area of ​​vineyards when he married a native heiress Cairanne. Description of the appellation :

The appellation lies in the heart of Upper Vaucluse, this wine-growing town just east of Mont Ventoux, on the edge of the Drôme and 2 steps from the Papal Enclave (40 km from Avignon). The winery occupies the foot of the mountainside village of Cairanne towards de-Dieu-Plan and the plain of the Aigues. The floors are made of red earth on sandstone with clayey and stony terraces.

Description of the region :

Second wine region in France after Bordeaux, the Rhone region is one of the oldest in the country. The vineyard is divided into two zones: the northern Rhone Valley and the southern Rhone valley.
