The Vin de Savoie appellation covers all the land of wine Savoy, representing 1,800 hectares of 51 municipalities of Savoie, Haute Savoie, Isère and Ain. The wines in this appellation are red, white and rosé. The vines enjoy a continental climate with different influences. They are located on hillsides to variable soils.
In the 13th century, Mount Garnier collapses, thus shaping the vineyard of Savoy as we know it today. It was not until the 18th century that vines are planted on the scree, instead of collapse. These vines now possible to produce two exceptional wines: Apremont and Abymes. However, the wines of Seyssel Roussette of Savoy (Monthoux, Marestel Frangy, Monterminod) also deserve their share of fame.
